According to Inter-Services Public Relations, representatives of Afghan border police and Isaf were also present during the meeting.
“Matters related to border security came under discussion. During the meeting ways and means were also discussed to further enhance the existing border coordination mechanism,” the statement read.
Commander Southern command Lieutenant General Nasir Khan Janjua is also scheduled to visit Afghanistan on Wednesday to meet his counterpart across the border.
The visits are aimed to enhance ongoing military to military contacts between the two countries.
Islamabad and Kabul are also engaged in talks for the handover of five Pakistani men arrested in Afghanistan in connection with last month’s attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar, according to a Pakistani official said on Sunday.
