The veteran anchor resigned from the job of more than three decades after he tweeted about the attack on the French satirical magazine, which left 12 dead.

Clancy took to the social networking site Twitter on the day of the attack and wrote about the cartoons the paper had published depicting Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), but then began criticising supporters of Israel and sparring with other Twitter users.
“The cartoons NEVER mocked the Prophet,” he said. “They mocked how the COWARDS tried to distort his word.”
Clancy, who anchored the global news show The Brief, then tweeted, “These accounts are part of a campaign to do PR for #Israel @JewsMakingNews @elderofziyon Nothing illegal - but PR not HR: Human Rights.”
The anchor’s Twitter account has since been deleted, but the tweets were published on several websites, including Gawker, Twitchy and Mediaite.
CNN confirmed on Saturday that Clancy had left the network but declined to comment on whether his departure was related to the Twitter messages. Clancy declined to comment.

@Gp65: There were never any restrictions on dreams even for a desperately poor country like india where a billion people live under the poverty line, I think India should concentrate on building toilets because at the moment the entire country is one big toilet and that is all what india is about, and by the way china can wipe out india in about half an hour but it might take Pakistan a bit longer after all we are ten times smaller but brave enough to keep you guys looking frightened.
So you can continue to kill and suppress minorities in India, and the civilized world should remain quite?? I don't think that is an internal matter of India any more when Human Rights are infringed!!!
@Khan Rape, Assam, Gujrat, Golden temple and other examples you cited are India's internal matters. Don't get involved. Secondly, we are arming because we are superpower. We have exceeded Russia, let alone China. This is why US maks deals with India and not Russia. As for our culture, it is continuously evolving, OK?
It's time we pay attention to our own weaknesses rather than other's. We'll fare much better.
@Gp65: lets nor forget the slaughter of thousands of Muslims in Gujarat and demolishing Babri Mosque. India is the most intolerant country in the world against minorities. The Golden Temple massacre of Sikhs can never be forgotten. And to top it all, India has recently been awarded the ho our of being rapist capital of the world! So get out of your false shell and confront reality.
SA@ that way you people always carry a begging blow to every country. Grow up you already lost good part of your country and most important that part is doing much better them your country .
@Gp65: As usual a hindu confused about his identity and the trecherious role his country has played at the hands of Zionist and crooked westren geopolitical forces in the skaughter of muslims in kashmir and others.
India has raging insurgencies from Kashmir to Assam, it is not a nation, the fact pakistan broke india and became pakistan and bangladesh is a proof that historically india will break up further, all because of its hindutva hatered of others. We in Pakistan have a very poor opinion of hindus, we have also seen from experience how a beggar nation like india is arming itself by citing China as a threat whereas china can wipe out india in a heartbeat. in ireality it is Pakistan india is frightened of A country that is is ten times smaller. That does not say much for india.
ET mods - I am not sure how an outright attack on Hindus without providing any facts as was done by @SA meets your comment guidelines. But if you allow tha, have the courage to print my fact-based rebuttal.
@SA: First of all India has people of all religion ot simply Hindus. In fact it has alost as many Muslims as Pakistan.
Secondly, it is Pakistan that signed CEATO, CENTO pacts while India led the non-aligned movement. It is Pakistan that took dollars and entered a foreign war in 1981 and 2001 not India. It is Pakistan army chief that allowed drones on its own citizens.
Look at what happened in Raymond Davis in Pakistan case and Italian sailors case in India.
It is India that stood up to the world and particularly to the west in WTO when it came to food security for its masses.
Please give one example where India compromised its own national interest o get money from West. Then look at your own country's hisory. The difference is obvious.
@Dt: Oh really? Is that freedom of speech which forced him to Quit his 3 Decades Old JOB ?!
Regret Jim Clancy left CNN due to Charlie Hebdo.
He was a very soft spoken anchor person every I have watched on any TV screen.
The problem with Jin Clancy tweets were that he said it is wrong to the people who first done the wrong and therefore caught in fire by the supporters of Charlie Hebdo.
Jim, you wrote the right tweets.
Thank you for saying wrong to wrong action.
PPL...freedom of expression and insulting somone who by many scholars and thinkers have proven to be a good human being are two differebt things.. ALAS but we dont feel sorry cause we got care any1 being disrespected...
It is always amusing when Muslims talk about freedom of speech and freedom of expression.
The media house did not fire him......he quit, following his own conscience.
The poor chap should have known that you cannot stand for principles in western world of double standards.
No freedom of speech for him? ??????
Pity-
Did the anchor get arrested for making the tweets? No? Then freedom of expression is still active. It's a "pity" you don't know what freedom of expression means.
Where are all those who believe that there should be no limit to freedom of expression?
What about Freedom of Expression???
