Face the music: Alleged militants arrested

KABAL: Kanju police arrested two alleged militants in Ningolai, Kabal tehsil of Swat on Thursday night. According to a police official, the detainees, identified as Maroof and Jamshed, used to threaten CD shop owners, warning them to shut down or face consequences. They were arrested during a raid following a tip-off from a shopkeeper. A case has been filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act and further investigation is under way.

If true, this is good news. Anyone trying to force other people into their beliefs should be punished based on the severity of their offence. Islam clearly states that there is no compulsion in religion. Such people need to be reported by the public and punished promptly which should be reported by media to discourage others.
