India is trying to torpedo Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism through its recurrent ceasefire violations on the border, Inter-Services Public Relations Director General Maj-Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa said on Thursday.
Speaking to the British think-tank Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), he said that India was fanning war hysteria although Pakistan has always taken the lead in offering peace. “India’s violent overtures have disappointed our peace initiatives,” Bajwa said.
The ISPR head said that indiscriminate action was launched against terrorists after the attack on Karachi airport.
He recalled that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the Foreign Office had tried everything possible to normalise ties between the two countries, but India always showed stubbornness. “Resolution of Kashmir issue is necessary to develop trust between Pakistan and India,” he said.
Referring to the Waziristan operation, he said: “Pakistan Army is bent upon uprooting terrorism from the country, and that will be done soon.
“We are not only busy in the operation against militants in Waziristan, but also helping the local populace by providing facilities such as roads, potable water, schools and medical assistance,” Maj-Gen Bajwa said.
The ISPR head satisfied a number of queries of the think-tank members.

@Realist: ok, go-ahead and announce it officially. And then don't complain ....
Kashmir issue is resolved. It is India's. Try to keep what you have intact before meddling in other country's affairs
These rhetorics won't work as the whole world knows by now who is the real culprit. It is ironic that Pakistan despite suffering immensely from terrorism at home still continues its decades old policy but puts blame on its neighbour. Simply pathetic and deplorable.
" Adviser to Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz " ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Now reduced to Adviser to Prime Minister Sartaj Aziz :).
Well Done Pakistan Army! We at least have a saviour in the shape of General Raheel Sharif! Although what now the army is doing should have been done by political parties. Where are the diplomats? The foreign minister? The spokespersons etc?
POK Kashmiris will run to India if they can. There is nothing for them in Pakistan. In India they can progress. Remember Kashmiri Muslims are Shia and they are being crushed in Pakistan along with other Muslim Ahemedias.
Optics/picture speaks volumes. Can you install Go-Pro cameras on rangers so incidents like when BSF ambushed rangers after calling for a flag meeting.
we cannot solve our domestic problems how we can solve Kashmir problem. we has spent million of rupees on military and police for peace but still no result. Can someone answer how long we have still have to wait for peace?
