Capital punishment: Man given death sentence for murder

KOHAT: Additional and sessions judge-IV awarded a death sentence on Tuesday to a man convicted of murder and attempted murder. The court concluded that Waqif Khan and his son Umer Saeed, both residents of Regi Sheinokhel, stabbed and stoned three people around two years ago. Janat Mir was killed in the attack, while his son Minhaj and daughter Zainab suffered injuries. Kohat Cantonment police registered a case against Waqif Khan and Umer Saeed on the complaint of the injured Minhaj. The police arrested Waqif, while the other suspect is still at large. In its decision, the court also declared Umer Saeed a proclaimed offender.
