Official moot: Committee discusses law and order

PESHAWAR: The Technical Committee on Law and Order, formed by the chief minister last month, met at the Home and Tribal Affairs department on Tuesday to discuss the overall security situation and safety measures taken in the province. According to a handout issued by the home department, Minister for Information Mushtaq Ghani chaired the meeting which was attended by Home Secretary Syed Akhtar Ali Shah, Police Headquarters AIG Abdul Kamal as well as other senior policemen and government officials. The committee discussed FM radio channels reportedly being used by religious seminaries and mosques for delivering sermons. They also discussed analysis of terrorism cases, crimes, publication of objectionable material in the province and inflammatory speeches that fuel hatred against any religious sect or person.
