Short circuiting: One killed in hospital fire

DERA GHAZI KHAN: A man was killed when a fire broke out in a private hospital on Monday. A Rescue 1122 spokesman said the fire broke out at Dr Hafeezur Rehman Bhatti’s hospital at Pir Qatar Mor around 7 am. He said electric short circuiting was believed to be the cause of the fire.

He said the fire spread quickly and engulfed the entire hospital. He said a Rescue1122 team reached the site and evacuated four people - Allah Ditta, Nazir Mai, Shamim Bibi and Muhammad Farhan. The spokesman said Fakhar Abbas, who was asleep in a room on the second floor, could not escape and died due to smoke inhalation. He said the fire was put out after four hours. Later, police arrived at the site and started investigations. The body of the deceased was handed over to the family for burial.
