Brutal killing: Family protests against police
Some men shot and killed Muzaffar Hussain Gujjar in Chak 99-RB to avenge an old enmity, says protestor
FAISALABAD:
Scores of relatives on Friday protested against the police for failing to arrest a group of men who had shot dead three people over an old enmity. The protesters gathered on Faisalabad-Jaranwala Road and blocked it for traffic. Muhammad Amjad, one of the protesters, said some men shot and killed Muzaffar Hussain Gujjar in Chak 99-RB to avenge an old enmity. He said Muzaffar and his gunman Kashif died on the spot. He said Safiya Bibi, Muzaffar’s wife, had been injured and taken to a hospital where she died. The protesters chanted slogans against the police and demanded immediate arrest of those responsible. Jaranwala station house officer took a police team to the scene and pacified the protestors by assuring them that the suspects would be arrested soon. The protesters then called off their protest and dispersed peacefully. Jaranwala SHO told newsmen that a case had been registered and a team had been formed to find and arrest the suspects. He said Jaranwala DSP Akhtar Ali conducted raids and detained Naveed and Maqsood Ahmad in connection with case.
