Awaiting the budget: Consultative session held in Haripur

A pre-budget consultative session was held in Haripur on Thursday to assess the needs of the people. Haripur DC Nisar Khan chaired the session, the main objective of which was to incorporate the needs of the people in all key sectors at the district level and reflect the same in the provincial budget. Khan requested heads of all departments to follow the instructions given by the finance, planning and development departments. After many years, the district departments are being given the opportunity to assess their development needs, prioritise them and reflect them in the provincial budget, said Khan. “We will come up with an evidence-based budget to improve service delivery in all sectors.” The district development plan, to be formulated, will also guide the future local government system, participants were told.
