PESHAWAR: Parents, who had lost their children in the terrorist attack on Army Public School in Peshawar, have formed a body to present their demands to the government.
The first meeting of the body, attended by relatives of 54 children who lost their lives in the massacre, was held on Wednesday at the residence of Abid Raza Bangash, in Phase I, Hayatabad.
Talking to The Express Tribune, some of the parents said that only those people whose children were either killed or injured in the attack could become the members of the body.
“No outsider is allowed in the body,” they said, adding that they had some reservations as well demands which they want to convey to the government.
On Wednesday, they appointed two focal persons to hold talks with the government.
“Some of the parents want that their kids be honored and decorated,” they said while explaining the purpose of the body.
“We are trying to provide a platform to all these parents and expect that in the next meeting more relatives will participate,” they added.
The idea to form the body was put forward by a man from Lahore who had visited the Army Public School and met the grieving parents.
