Hockey: Wapda into semis with 7-1 win

In Thursday’s quarter-final fixtures, PIA will take on SSGC, while Army will face Punjab.

Aleem Bilal successfully converted four penalty corners to steer Wapda into the semi-finals of of the 61st PSO National Hockey Championship, as they defeated HEC 7-1 in the first quarter-final at the Sialkot Hockey Stadium yesterday.


Muhammad Imran scored two field goals, while Tasawar Abbas added one to complete the 7-1 rout of HEC. Ashar Ali scored the consolation goal for HEC.


Meanwhile in the second quarter-final, Muhammad Tousiq and Syed Kashif Shah scored one each for NBP to book their berth in the semi-final as they defeated Navy 2-1, with Akbar Ali being the only player to score for Navy.


In Thursday’s quarter-final fixtures, PIA will take on SSGC, while Army will face Punjab.
