Sad demise: Aligarh university association’s VP dies

The senior vice-president of Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association (Amuoba) and convener of the Aligarh Institute of Technology, Engineer Muhammad Yusuf Siddiqi, breathed his last on Monday morning due to a cardiac arrest at the age of 75.


He leaves behind two sons and three daughters. Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) chancellor Engineer Muhammad Adil Usman and Amuoba president and members shared their condolences on the sad demise. They termed it a great loss to the ‘Aligarhians’ and the university which has created a void that will be difficult to fill for a long time.

Usman said that a great friend has been lost. He recalled his efforts for the promotion of quality education at the SSUET as a founding member. He prayed that the departed soul rest in eternal peace and the bereft family be granted courage. Siddiqi was a member of the SSUET board of governors. He was also a member of the SSUET academic council and finance and planning committee. He was also the chief engineer at the Karachi Development Authority.
