An autopsy report confirmed on Saturday that the boy found strangled on the roof of a mosque a day earlier was molested several times before his death.
Hours earlier, the family of the five-year-old victim protested in Green Town with the body but dispersed peacefully after Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Amin Wains assured them that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
None of the seven suspects rounded up in connection with the macabre murder have been released yet, according to Wains.
The child was buried after the funeral prayers on Saturday in which a large number of people including police officers participated.
“The prayer caller [at the mosque] is a prime suspect because the body was recovered from his locked room on the rooftop of the mosque,” said Wains. Police is now waiting for the forensic report of the suspects.
Speaking to The Express Tribune, SP Saddar Ijaz Shafi Dogar said that seven suspects are in their custody including the son of the prayer leader of the mosque and the brother of the prayer caller.” He voice hope that they will solve the cases within three days with the help of the forensic test that could be carried out ahead of the holidays.
Earlier, the Punjab chief minister took notice of the incident late Friday and asked CCPO to ensure that the culprits are arrested and the family is delivered justice.

You are so dumb..Anon was being sarcastic....
An Israeli may have done it.
FGS Stop picking on Anon. He is just being sarcastic. He's just reiterating that both sides blame each other for silly things in their own domains.
we demand whosoever is the culprit should prosecuted and hanged in public at speedy trial. Let this be a warning for all those sick minded people amongst us.
@Anon: I am a Pakistani, and I will not turn my boo one eye to these disgusting acts our people do. Don't lie to yourself.
@Anon: very funny Anon please grow up.
@Shahud Ashraf:
Of course, I am sarcastic while making the above comments as most Pakistani thinks they are the most honest people in the world and they are not capable of doing these kind of acts....and as India is their favorite punching bag, I was sarcastic on mentioning India.
Anon is clearly being sarcastic I cant believe how most of the readers took it literally. How dumb.
Shinning Pakistan !!!
I understand. No, it's not a lesson. I too feel anger when I see injustice. For example, my heart went out to the entire nation when the attacks took place on the school in Peshawar, as well as in the U.S. I feel terrible about all the people killed in 9/11, or Syria, or Afghanistan, or India and everywhere. Yes, there are terrible crimes in India but there are also people fighting those crimes. There are people who hold on to the hope of humanity and remember that there is good everywhere. Beyond borders, nations, gender and religion :)
I often wonder where all this anger comes from. I think it's primarily because we can't see so much pain. We can't understand it, so we blame it off. Getting angry at anyone or anything or any nation makes us feel better because it's an outlet. I just wish for you to see the source of this anger and realize that you are a better person than that and that I too, understand your anger at this completely unjust act.
@Anon: I could smell some sarcasm in your comment given the fact that we are habitual of putting everything on external forces particularly India, US and/or Israel. If this is trur, then clarify because other readers are taking it wrong. If you are serious, then God have mercy on you and your thinking.
We need a lesson in ethics and morals from Indians who are world famous for raping women in public. What a joke! Indians, Pakistanis don't want to have anything to do with you.Lay off!
We need a lesson from Indians who are world famous for raping women in public, ugly repulsive Indians, why can't they buzz off?
@Anon: You are an idiot of the highest order.
I'm so sorry you feel this way. It is not about our people or yours. There are bad people in every nation. Sure, an Indian may be responsible for this terrible act,however,it could also be a Pakistani, or a man or a woman. Who knows? Eventually, whoever this is, is an evil human being. But you can not say that an entire nation is responsible for this. Pakistan is not responsible, neither is India, neither is America. It's the people who did this, and the culture, and lack of humanity and finally, lack of fear of justice.
@Anon:
And they were also behind OBL in Pakistan. Right? We seriously need to eradicate madrassas in Pakistan and produce thinkers.
@Anon: This is the most absurd comment I have ever come across. How is India to be blamed when our children go through this sheer torture at the hands of such so called representatives of our religion? We need to change our mindsets and accept our mistakes. There is absolutely no one to monitor the madrassa education system, did India tell us not to have a body that could oversee the conduct of these madrassas? To be frank we don't have an education system for madrassas. In an absence of a proper system such sad incidents will reoccur. Do you know what our problem is, we encourage the brightest minds to become lawyers, doctors and engineers but not a religious Scholar. The dullest of the minds are pushed towards being a mufti or a mualvi. We undermine the job of a religious scholar, when in reality they are more responsible towards the future of this planet, than a doctor or an engineer is. We won't be able to put an end to such incidents, until we accept our mistakes and work on them.
DNA tests should get the real culprit(s). Plus our police is smart in getting confessions. Hope and pray the culprits are given exemplary punishments.
It is our major problem that we always blame others on our problems. Children and women/girls are always vulnerable so they are targeted. Whoever will be in power will abuse.
India is behind this......we are innocents...our people cannot do these kind of acts.
These crimes would never cease unless the Punjab ministry sends a credible threat to such people. They should do something and do it now
