Riaz Hussain, a resident of Jehanian Shah, said that he was robbed last week near Nooraywala village. “The robbers snatched Rs16,000 and my mobile phone from me. They also beat me up. I recognised one of the robbers, who is a police constable posted at Shah Nakdur station. I lodged a complaint with the Sahiwal police against the policeman and the three unidentified robbers. However, the police tampered with my application and removed the name of the constable. They have now registered a case only against unidentified robbers,” Hussain said. The protesters demanded action against police and appealed to the Sahiwal DPO to take notice of the issue. They said that the police were reluctant to take action against their colleague. They demanded action against the constable.
