KARACHI: K-Electric (KE) extended their lead at the top of the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) table after registering a 1-0 win against Railways at the KPT Stadium on Thursday.

KE brought down Railways with a winner from Muhammad Rasool in the 37th minute of the match, taking the Chitral-based striker’s tally to 21 goals from 18 matches this season.

With the win, KE have 41 points, leading with five, after having won 13 matches, losing three and drawing two.

According to the match-commissioner Ali Nawaz Baloch, despite KE’s win, the club played a dull match against Railways unlike their usual attacking game. "It was a lackluster performance from KE even though they won the match," Baloch told The Express Tribune.

"It was too windy and players from both the teams had problems controlling the ball. KE just managed to score first and maintain the lead."

Meanwhile, Railways lost their 11th match from the 19 played so far.

In Friday's fixture, PIA will play PAF at the Korangi Baloch Stadium.
