FAISALABAD: Chak Jhurma police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a woman accused of killing her husband three weeks ago. City Police Officer (CPO) Sohail Tajik told newsmen that Shehbaz Sheikh, a resident of Mohallah Usman Town, went to Chak Jhumra on December 7 to see his relatives. They said he went missing on the way. The CPO said Chak Jhumra police had registered a missing person’s complaint by Muhammad Dilawar, Shehbaz’s brother and started a search for him. He said police had included Waqar Shamsi, a relative of Shehbaz, in the investigation, whom he had gone to visit.  “Later, police took Yasmeen Niaz, Shehbaz’s wife, into custody for interrogation,” he said.  He said the woman had confessed to killing her husband. The CPO said she had told police that her husband had accused her of having an affair with her cousin. She said she had killed him with the help of Shamsi and his brother.  She said when he came to Chak 118-JB, they had taken him to a field and stabbed him. She said they had buried Shehbaz in the field.   The CPO said a team had been formed to find and arrest Shamsi and his brother. He said Shehbaz’s body had been recovered.
