The drought continues: Five more children die in Thar

Five more children died in Tharparkar on Wednesday, taking the total death toll in the drought-hit region in December to 138. Eleven-day-old Daulat Meghawar and five-month-old Abid Ali passed away in Civil Hospital, Mithi. Meanwhile, a two-day-old child died in Chahro, 15-day-old Latif Rind in Khansar, while four-month-old Anita died in a village of Nangarparkar. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah failed to fulfill the promise of installing 325 reverse-osmosis plants by the end of the year. The private company that was given the contract to install the plants could not even install half of them.
