Roaming free: Thieves strike at three places in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: Thieves struck at a house in Chaklala Scheme-III and took away cash and valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees. Police said that the thieves entered the house of Zafarullah by breaking its locks and looted Rs160,000 cash, jewellery and other valuables.

Meanwhile, Kamran Mustafa lodged a complaint with the same police stating that auto-thieves had stolen his motorcycle (RIN-8872) from outside his house. The police registered separate cases against the thieves but no arrests or recoveries have been made yet.

Meanwhile, a woman and her son were robbed of cash and savings certificates at gunpoint in Westridge, said a media report on Monday.

Police said that Aniq Haider and his mother were travelling home when two armed motorcyclists intercepted them in Gulshan-e-Nayab and looted Rs250,000 cash, savings certificates worth Rs3.3 million, jewellery and two mobile phones. The police registered a case.

Bike, car stolen in capital

A motorcycle has been stolen from the weekly market in Aabpara, Islamabad. Sajid Mehmood lodged a complaint with the local police stating that auto-thieves stole his motorcycle (LEW-9613) from the parking of Sunday Market in Sector G-6/1. The police registered a case against the thieves. Moreover, in the limits of Kohsar Police Station,  a car was stolen from a parking lot in Blue Area on Monday. Asad Iqbal told the police that his Suzuki Mehran (LV-375) had been stolen from the parking lot of Al-Khair Plaza. The police registered separate cases.
