Short circuit: House of trader gutted

MANSEHRA: A house was gutted in Mohallah Chanaee, Mansehra, reducing valuables to ashes, said the police on Monday. However, the family remained unhurt as no one was at home. Police quoted Niaz Ahmed alias Naz, a local trader, as saying he went to see off one of his relatives at Islamabad airport with his children when the fire erupted. It started from one of the rooms and engulfed the entire house, gutting all electronic appliances, furniture and clothes. Naz said his neighbours called the fire brigade that managed to put out the inferno, saving neighbouring houses. The complainant estimated the loss to be of thousands of rupees, said the police. According to the police, the fire erupted as a result of a short circuit.
