KARACHI: Pakistan ODI and Test skipper Misbahul Haq is still not fully fit after having sustained a hamstring injury against New Zealand, which forced him to miss the last three one-dayers.

However, according to PCB General Manager Sports Medicine Dr Sohail Saleem, fresh scans have suggested that the swelling around his strained muscles has reduced to a great extent.

“Misbah’s scans suggested a grade-II strain of the hamstring and thus he has progressed on to phase two of his rehabilitation,” said Saleem. “He can now walk and jog without feeling any pain, and his resistance testing against 70% of manual resistance is pain-free. He still needs to achieve full strength and range of motion pain-free and replicate his sports-specific movement before he is declared fit to take the field in Pakistan colours.”

Just like Misbah, Junaid Khan and Sohaib Maqsood also continue their rehabilitation, with only Ehsan Adil regaining full fitness.
