KARACHI:

Sindh minister for local government Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that the government is going to give the people of Karachi an elevated expressway project that will run from Jinnah Bridge to Quaidabad. The Sindh government is also committed towards making more parks in the city along with a dual carriageway from the National Highway to Super Highway.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the Hosh Muhammad Sheedi Park in Clifton on Thursday. The park, being built by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation's Parks Department, is spread over 4.25 acres in Clifton. The project, worth nearly Rs40 million, is likely to be completed in six months. Memon said that the PPP has never been against the armed forces. Rather, it had just raised its voice against dictatorship. The plan to set up military courts is difficult to accept, he said, adding that the party will support all political parties in this decision given the tragedy in Peshawar.

Memon also said that the PPP chairperson, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has been advised against travelling by doctors, but he may visit Garhi Khuda Bux to observe Benazir Bhutto's death anniversary.

Innocent children are dying of hunger and you are focusing resources in urban center, on what? Creating places where places flowers nourish? But what about the flowers dying in the desert? What sins did their parents commit? Do you know what a child means to his parents? If only we had little logic. Alas !
