Slashing the cost of energy and petroleum products will have a positive impact on the revival of the industrial sector

ISLAMABAD:

Mian Muhammad Adrees, presidential candidate for the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), has welcomed the setting up of a treaty implementation cell in the Ministry of Commerce and hoped that withdrawal of the moratorium on capital punishment will not hurt Pakistan’s trade relations.

In a statement, he said Pakistan had a dearth of financial resources and was facing multi-faceted problems, including the energy crisis and increase in the cost of doing business, which had plagued the industrial sector.

However, recent measures slashing the cost of energy and petroleum products would have a positive impact on the revival of the industrial sector, he said. This would not only help the country to increase exports but would also create new jobs for the unemployed youth in addition to earning foreign exchange and generating revenue for the national exchequer.
