The delegation, led by Vice Minister of the International Department of the Committee of the Communist Party Chen Fengxiang, has called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and MNA Hamza Shahbaz Sharif in Islamabad and Lahore, respectively.
The sources revealed that the PML-N leadership and Chinese team discussed Jinping’s visit and Chinese companies’ interest in carrying out uplift projects in Pakistan.
They said that the Chinese delegates expressed satisfaction over Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s decision to call off its protracted Islamabad sit-ins. A strategy has been devised on how to benefit from this situation and convince Chinese companies to come to Pakistan and carry out various projects.
PM Nawaz, during his meeting with the delegation said that postponement of President Xi Jinping’s visit in September was unfortunate and the people of Pakistan are eagerly looking forward to welcoming the president soon.
The delegation also met Shahbaz Sharif along with members of Punjab’s cabinet and party leadership.

@Talha Mujahid:
"Gawadar was inaugurated by Musharaf in 2007 and it is yet to handle a single kg of commercial cargo. All this because of the inexistance of necessary infrastructure."
Gawadar will never handle a single kg of any commercial cargo. The unstated and true reason for the Gawadar project was never commercial. It was constructed to house Chinese warships and submarines and also serve as an escape port for Pakistani navy in case of an Indian attack. Pakistan felt vulnerable with Karachi being the only navy port. It may be recalled that in 1971 war India successfully attacked and blockaded Karchi port.
@liaqat ali: I agree with you. Gawadar was inaugurated by Musharaf in 2007 and it is yet to handle a single kg of commercial cargo. All this because of the inexistance of necessary infrastructure.
haider and raider
Without the roads infrastructure , Gawadar is nothing. Public projects are for the benefit of the very populace. rail, roads , communications infrastrcuture are the backbone of development and ordinary population benfits the most from it .this is the basic responsibility of the state without participation of private sector.It is a must for industialzation and people mneed quick access to schools and hospitals which are private as well as state owned.If chinese want to be part of the raods netwrok from from China to Gawadar , it is good news and we should not put hurdles in their way .
Well done Nawaz Sharif !
how much investment flowing in would be of no use to populace until corrupt entrenched dynasties and patronage ouster not be culminated
I hope rather than development more focus towards industrialisation,security,health,agriculture and education...No need of expensive roads and metros.....invest that money in gawadar
Viva! This is really very good news. Bravo! Coming with an international delegation of heads of Chinese companies means that China continues its sincere policy of friendship with Pakistan. This must be turned around by us to fructify the upshot by sincerity on the part of our politicians and businessmen. Let’s patriotically pay our taxes and return loans taken from banks and financial institutions, for a change. Thanx and Salams
