Improving governance: Country’s first mobile app contest
Participants to get themselves registered on Planning Commission website
ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan’s first National Mobile App Competition has been announced to engage talented IT professionals for improving government services, transparency and quality of work. The competition has been announced by Planning Commission of Pakistan in collaboration with private sector for which students and professionals can submit their ideas and best 10 ideas will be selected for rewards and prizes. As per details, the participants would have to get themselves registered on Planning Commission website along with information about their App idea. They would have to outline the idea, its impact and the cost. The deadline for idea submission is February 1, 2015 and categories are energy, health, agriculture, education, good governance, media and news, e-commerce, judiciary, policing, security, traffic management and any other high impact issue. The will be awarded Rs300,000, while second and third runner-ups will be given Rs200,000 and Rs100,000, respectively.
