PKF secretary Muhammad Sarwar said India’s mistreatment of Pakistan was disappointing and contrary to the sportsman spirit, as both teams were performing well earlier but the visitors were then subjected to prejudice.
He said the hooter went off before the allotted time for the final quarter.
“It’s what Indians do all the time really,” Sarwar told The Express Tribune. “They always try to play tricks. I agree with our captain [Ahmed Shafiq Chishti] that the hooter went off before time as soon as the Indians got a three-point lead.”
Pakistan were leading 31-27 at the end of the third quarter, and the competition remained intense in the fourth quarter.
“Everyone saw the match, so I can only say that now we’ll be taking this matter very seriously, and we will approach the International Kabaddi Federation [IKF] strategically. Since the entire management of the tournament comprises Indians, we can’t say much.”
Sarwar added that the IKF will become a member at the International Olympic Committee (IOC) next month, which will hopefully improve the standard of the federation.
“We’re waiting for better times now and will wait for our chance on a neutral venue,” said Sarwar, who is also the secretary of the Asian Kabaddi Federation. “We’ve lost the match and the trophy is gone. So now it’s about preventing this from happening in the future.”
Chishti laments mistreatment
Ahmed Shafiq Chishti, Pakistan kabaddi team captain, lamented mistreatment by the organiser after losing the Kabaddi World Cup final against India.
He said that the match was ended before time as soon as India gained a two-point lead over Pakistan.
He also complained that Pakistan players were not allowed to drink water and when they reacted they were told to ‘stay away’.
Pakistan gave a very good performance against the Indians and were in lead 31-27 at the end of the third quarter. With the start of the fourth quarter India tried to lessen Pakistan’s lead and as soon they gained a two-point lead the final hooter rang which Chishti claims was before the stipulated time.
Pakistan captain further said that if India organises the event that doesn’t mean they have to cheat and keep the World Cup for themselves. He also made a claim that if unjust decisions in favour of India will not be stopped, Pakistan team will stop participating in the event.

surely pakistan won the final but indian referies make it easy to india shame on cheaters
It was very good game of Kabadi. Loosing or winning is part of the game. We all Punjabi’s should remain united regardless from India or Pakistan. It’s unfortunate to know there was a foul play in the game. Officials should investigate and make sure that it does not happen again. Love and peace to all (human Beings).
It was a shameful act by desperate indians. it will be even more shameful if Pakistan participates in next Kabaddi WC in india.
It was shame the way Indians treated with the guests.pakistan was better team in the final,as a Punjabi I felt embarrassed
Good game
All players did well winning or losing is not the issue at least two countries came TOGATHER
Well done India and well played Pakistan.
It's ashame that the Indian team would go to anew low level by applying balm so they could easily wriggle out of the hands of the pakistan team. Just too win the trophy.
I am from India, but this is really disgraceful from the officials. That was really unfair, and Pakistan deserved to win. I don't think things like this help to promote Kabaddi. Would have been nice for Pakistan to win. So shame on Indian official.
All that is said is not truthful. I noticed when pakistanis were in lead in the fourth quater, they were using delaying tactics. Buy yes if they have not been allowed to drink water but indian players were allowed then this is definately of concern. I think emotions ran high in pakistan camp after loosing and this was the reason of outburst. Winning and loosing is a part iof game, but there should be fair play.
Shame on cheaters & foul players. Strong Sportsman spirit is more important than title.
What ever we are in our country but our lions proved themselves. So much clear cut cheating, shame on badal sarkar. This is not the win
Indians have gone to new levels. Their disgraced behaviour as hosts is appalling. They have destroyed cricket and will do for all the other sports.
Honestly just drop out. Such medals won in India are worthless anyway.
None of the Government Officials from Pakistan bothered to reach the venue. On the other hand the match was flooded with Indian ministers. Any Pakistan living abroad or doing anything for Pakistan is left at their own mercy. We have seen the Belgium incident where Our officials infact degraded the victim and in this case as well our Government did not bother to attend this World Cup event.
So Mr Chisti keep on complaining but our value as a Pakistani is nothing in our own country and abroad. Also most of the Kabbadi players belong from poor families instead of Political or Armed Forces families and We are here to serve but not to be heard.
When our own government abandons us then what we can complain from others?
