The interior minister will update the nation about the steps being taken to hunt militants, as well as the possible expansion of the military operation in the country, he said.
He will also provide details of recommendations given by army chief General Raheel Sharif to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in a meeting held at the military headquarters on Friday, the official added.
All major political parties will most likely give their input on the National Action Plan to the government today or tomorrow, after which the National Action Plan Committee will discuss the recommendations, the senior officer of the interior ministry added.
Rashid protests against exclusion in NAPC
Meanwhile, Awami Muslim League (AML) President Sheikh Rashid has spoken out against his exclusion by the government in a meeting of the National Action Plan Committee.
“My party is in the National Assembly, but [the government] did not include my name to the committee,” he told The Express Tribune.
“I, as a member of the National Assembly, want to give input to this committee,” Rashid added.
He added that Ijazul Haq of the Pakistan Muslim League-Zia – who only has one seat in Parliament – was a part of the NAPC among others.
“I will lodge my protest with the speaker of the NA in the upcoming session,” he said.
“The NAPC is a national committee. I am ready to give my input if someone invites me,” he added.

The Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar is a Taliban apologist. The way he shed copious tears when a mass murderer like Hakeemullah Mehsud was taken out in a Drone strike was not just shameful, it was an open slap on the face of those families who have lost their loved ones to terrorists. To believe that this Taliban apologist can devise a strategy to tackle terrorism is like asking to see the full Moon everyday. Sadly without the support of Jihadi elements he may not be able to get himself elected.
Why chaudry Nisar ? Has our prime minister mortgaged his tongue to the terrorists? This man has avoided to talk to the nation at the worst hour of our history. Down with you Nawaz Sharif and shame on you.
Only the army is capable of making and executing plans. These politicians are good for nothing. Keep having useless discussions while Gen. Raheel Sharif is busy putting plans into actions. Gen. Sharif went to Kabul, went on the offensive against TTP and forced NS to cancel the ban on death penalty on these barbarians in the first 24 hours while we are still waiting for these do nothings 5 days later.
It took two plus years and 150 young lives to make the interior minister spring in action. How Come the previous one (Malik) is quite When are you going to clean PML N from people like Rana Sanaullah etc.?
Shaikh Rashid was not included because Nawaz is getting his revenge. Nisar has smoke and mirrors and screens and a glib tongue. Nothing else. Same committees same plans same faces. Remember,..Nisar was the point man from the 'Give Peace a Chance' cabal of Nawaz.
As usual, PMLN is dragging its feet.
Don't make announcements, just do the action. We will see when it happens.
This man above in Picture is good for NOTHING! You can explode near his ears and he won't hear. You can show him dead babies from explosions and he won't see. He can only SPEAK, that's right! It was all happening under his nose and he was sleeping. It's like a failed lad tell his dad, "I'm going to be smart from tomorrow!" It's either in your bones or it's not their. He is Good Only for dying his hair JET BLACK with PAINT like he is 18year old and listening to romantic songs. I don't believe anything reliable coming from him. This Govt and all its cronies are corrupt and Useless to the core. I don't believe anything good will happen for the country by them. Period!

SECURE THE BORDERS - SECURE THE BORDERS - SECURE THE BORDERS
Humanely begin process for repatriating all illegal aliens / Afghans
Have a team identify foreigners who have obtained Pakistani ID cards and passports illegally (Bengalis, Afghanis etc).
Make sure the Pakistanis who were part of this scam are fined and sent to jail. Fine the foreigners and expell them immediately.
Have a mechanism to control the Western borders (helicopters, drones, electronic sensors)
Most Cabinet members of Nawaz Sharif have some defect and Nisar has a significant one. When Nawaz wants no action he would ask this man to hold press conferance
It doesn't make any sense for Ijaz ul Haq to be part of his NAPC committee. Rather than creating an unnecessary circus, participation to committee should be limited to parties with at least having 10 seats in parliament.
