ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar will soon reveal significant details included in the National Action Plan on how the military will hunt down the financiers, abettors, facilitators and aides of militants, a senior official of the interior ministry said on Saturday.

The interior minister will update the nation about the steps being taken to hunt militants, as well as the possible expansion of the military operation in the country, he said.

He will also provide details of recommendations given by army chief General Raheel Sharif to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in a meeting held at the military headquarters on Friday, the official added.

All major political parties will most likely give their input on the National Action Plan to the government today or tomorrow, after which the National Action Plan Committee will discuss the recommendations, the senior officer of the interior ministry added.

Rashid protests against exclusion in NAPC

Meanwhile, Awami Muslim League (AML) President Sheikh Rashid has spoken out against his exclusion by the government in a meeting of the National Action Plan Committee.

“My party is in the National Assembly, but [the government] did not include my name to the committee,” he told The Express Tribune.

“I, as a member of the National Assembly, want to give input to this committee,” Rashid added.

He added that Ijazul Haq of the Pakistan Muslim League-Zia – who only has one seat in Parliament – was a part of the NAPC among others.

“I will lodge my protest with the speaker of the NA in the upcoming session,” he said.

“The NAPC is a national committee. I am ready to give my input if someone invites me,” he added.

The Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar is a Taliban apologist. The way he shed copious tears when a mass murderer like Hakeemullah Mehsud was taken out in a Drone strike was not just shameful, it was an open slap on the face of those families who have lost their loved ones to terrorists. To believe that this Taliban apologist can devise a strategy to tackle terrorism is like asking to see the full Moon everyday. Sadly without the support of Jihadi elements he may not be able to get himself elected.
