Afghan army chief General Sher Muhammad Karimi said on Friday that his Pakistani counterpart General Raheel Sharif has not asked for handing over of the fugitive chief of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, Mullah Fazlullah, who is believed to be hiding in Afghanistan.
General Raheel and ISI chief Lt Gen Rizwan Akhtar visited Kabul on December 17, a day after the deadly Taliban attack on the Army Public School and College in Peshawar. Gen Raheel had shared “vital elements of intelligence with concerned authorities, with regard to the Peshawar incident,” the army spokesman had said.
However, the Afghan army chief said that the top Pakistani military officials didn’t ask for custody of Mullah Fazlullah. “They didn’t mention Mullah Fazlullah. He doesn’t live in Afghanistan and we are not sheltering him,” Gen Karimi told a local Radio channel in Afghanistan.
“We have a long and porous border, so it is possible he might be operating from both sides of the border like other terrorists. But he is always on the run. We have never sheltered terrorists and will never do so,” he said referring to Mullah Fazlullah.
Pakistan believes the TTP chief has regrouped his fighters on the Afghan side of the border and operates from there “We’ve reached the conclusion that Kabul and Islamabad should unite in the fight against terrorism,” Gen Karimi said.

@Hoshang Ansari.:
Afghan havildar is a Sandhurst graduate, and eating crow is a habit of your leaders not Afghans. Nothing is going to happen to Fazlullah as long as your duplicitious nature does not reciprocate. Talking trash might make you feel good but reality is something else. All that talk about unilateral action and hot pursuit fizzled out, so who ate crow here is open to debate.
@wb: Looks like. Afghan havildar Karimi is eating crow. Brought over by ISAF commander. to apologize to Gen. Sharif. Must be devastating to hindus trolls.
@Tyggar: include me too
ISPR will you please clarify if General Raheel was there just for afghan pulao or did he ask for Fazlullah´s handover ?
@Tyggar: Keep going.
@ F16 SSG Nightmare
Where were your nukes when Salala incident took place and when US Navy Seals entered Pakistani airspace to execute OBL? Get real!
@Peshawar wala:
Ahhh ..one of your new identities after Rangoonwala, Lahorewala, Kohistan wala, Motiwala, Karachi wala etc?
@Peshawar wala: No need to explain or prove anything to a hindu troll. Just ask Modi
@Syed Nayyar Uddin Ahmad: No we will not mind. Why do'nt you do it? At least give it a try.You may succeed.
Hey wb 'water bottle' still spewing your anti Muslim hate?
But all Pakistani newspapers wrote he asked Fazalullah in his visit to Afghanistan...But what if he ask now?
It is very simple. Pakistan should stop all Afghan transit routes and also stop flights going over its territory to Afghanistan.
@Peshawar wala: Does that story ring a bell?
@American: Will India mind if Pakistan launched a surgical strike to knock down "Swami" who is on BAIL and roaming free in India and accused of burning the Pakistani passengers in the famous "SAMJHOTA Express" case.
Pakistan can learn security from Saudi Arabia. In Saudi Arabia all cities have a check point at entry and exit. All movements are checked like we have checks at the airports.
People who move with guns from one town to the other can be spotted at these check points.
Trucks loaded with explosives can be stopped before they enter a city.
Let us do it. The time is now.
You bad boy we hate you for spilling the beans. Just shut up, please I beg you.
General Abdul Razzaq Achakzai of Afghan army has ordered his troops to chase the afghan taliban across durand line. period
@American: You did it with OBL? didnt you? Or you didnt?
@Umair: Yes, that is the fact.
Well did our COAS & ISI DG go for Kabuli Pulao there then? Btw this the same Afghan general who said Afghanistan's territory starts at river Indus.
That's ok we have decided to nuke Kabul once for all
Fazalullah doesn't live in Afghanistan, Haqqanis don't live in waziristan, Latif mehsud had gone to buy some lambs from khost and NDS does not support TTP and ISI does not support afghan taleban. You got my point.
Yes, he didn't ask for a handover, he will take him down in Afghanistan.
The truth is Afghanistans intelligence keeps Fazlullah as an asset. Pakistan should pursue its own interests. It should take unilateral action.
Well definitely he didn't ask for Fazlu cause it would have been supported by an statement of ISPR.. I wonder why public pakistanis are so naive.. instead of posting confused questions here why dont you go and ask your government to share his meeting agenda!
Mr Karimi also rejected the statement that was issued by mr Aziz today - ET please cover that and publish this.
@A-No.1: Will the Pakistani army chief mind if the ISAF take out Haqqani and Mullah Omar in Pakistan ? Will the Pakistani army chief mind if the Indians take out LeT's Lakhvi and JuD's Hafiz Saeed in Pakistan ?
I feel sympathy for General Raheel. The baggage left by Kayyani and Musharaf is not easy to carry. For example, Musharaf never accepted that OBL was in Pakistan. Afghans are repeating same words.
so what did he ask for a cup of tea!.. maybe a few afghan botis.. Gen came and only came for one purpose and that was fazullah.. stop confusing your own public.. Surgical Strikes are imminent if you dont take action against your sanctuaries.. GEN RAHEEL DOESN'T MESS ABOUT!..Dont upset a nuclear armed country
Wow!!! More confusion
Will the Afghan army chief mind if the SSG take out Fuzlulu?
If has not asked for the Mullah Fazlulla than what did he ask for? Either he got cold feet or he is planning to send in Pakistani special forces to hunt him down and bring him back home or he was afraid in case the Afghans asked for Mullah Umar. We need to know - it is urgent.
When mulla Fazlullah was injured in a drone strike awhile ago. He was attended by Hamid Karzai's physicians. Stayed under Karzai's and Afghan forces protection while he recuperated. Now this two dollar thug, Karimi is saying this.
Naturally!
Nice one... so much for an improvement in relationship. It is basically chickens coming home to roost. The line “We have a long and porous border, so it is possible he might be operating from both sides of the border like other terrorists. But he is always on the run. We have never sheltered terrorists and will never do so,” could have been coming from a Pakistan official years ago!
