The private institutes abruptly announced the vacation cancelling all engagements on Friday. An official of the Roots School System said that they had cancelled the parent-teacher meetings and other engagements. “The vacation was to start on December 24 but we have announced it earlier due to security issues,” he said.
The Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) has issued a notification that the public schools and colleges in the capital would observe winter vacation from December 22 to December 31. The schools and colleges will reopen on January 1.
Riphah International University will also remain closed till January 4 while the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) will be closed from Dec 22 to Dec 29. However, a press release stated that entry tests will be held as per schedule.
