The launching ceremony for the upcoming exhibitions, scheduled to be held in April, was held in Karachi with Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Chairman SM Munir as the chief guest.
Munir said the chamber was playing its role in promoting trade activity with regional and international states and other chambers must follow the example.
“RCCI has organised many ‘Made in Pakistan’ expos in almost every Saarc state,” he said.
Meanwhile, RCCI President Syed Asad Mashadi said the chamber’s prime objective is to promote trade along with improving ties with regional states. “The RCCI has now decided to explore Afghanistan’s trade market with full force, hence organising two expos in a row in two cities.”
He said commercial counsellors should be appointed on merit basis to promote bilateral trade ties.
Both exhibitions will be held in April 2015 — the first one in Kabul from April 15 to 17, before the second is held in Mazar-i-Sharif from April 22 to 24.
Commercial Attaché Afghanistan Zeshan Ibrhimi, Deputy Attaché Muhammad Nasir Mayar, Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Iftikhar Ahmed Vohra, Pak-Afghan Joint Chamber chief Zubair Motiwala, Vice Chairman RCCI Exhibition Committee Khurshid Barlas among others were also present on the occasion.
