PESHAWAR:

Opposition parties in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly have decided to file a petition in the Peshawar High Court on Tuesday (today) to restrain Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf from shutting down the province on December 18.

The petition will be filed against the call of PTI Chairman Imran Khan who has decided to shut down the whole country on Thursday as part of his ongoing series of protests against the alleged rigging in the 2013 general elections.

"We will request the chief justice to order not to shut down any part of the province because many people including students, patients and others would suffer,” MPA Nighat Orakzai told the media at the high court’s premises on Monday.

Flanked by Qaumi Watan Party MPA Sultan Muhammad, ANP’s Jaffar Shah and PML-N’s Shiraz Khan, Orakzai added protesting was not the solution and that all matters need to be resolved through dialogue.
