KARACHI: Muhammad Sajjad moved up a place to cement the top spot, formerly occupied by Muhammad Asif Toba, in the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) rankings after clinching the Langnese Ranking Snooker Championship title recently.

Sajjad was also given a cash award of Rs200,00 by the PBSA in consideration of his excellent performance in last month’s IBSF World Snooker Championship – played in India – where he finished as runner-up.

Imran Shehzad moved up to second place, while Abdul Sattar climbed three spots to occupy the third position left vacant by Shehzad.

Hamza Akbar is now ranked fourth in the new rankings, while Toba slid down to fifth from the top.

Meanwhile, former IBSF world champion Mihammad Asif is now in sixth place after a disappointing season.

The other four players in the top 10 are Muhammad Majid Ali (seventh), Asjad Iqbal (eighth), Rambail Gul (ninth) and Sohail Shehzad (10th).

Rambail leaped 10 places after playing the final of the ranking championship, which he lost to Sajjad.

Another significant change in the rankings is former Pakistan number two Sultan Muhammad finishing 11th, an improvement of nine places from his previous position at 20.
