Karachi shutdown

Letter December 14, 2014
This is how our politicians promise to make our country better.

KARACHI: They call themselves peaceful protestors? Welcome to the PTI, which calls itself peaceful. The SHO of the Boat Basin area in Karachi let them do whatever the party members wanted to do. They blocked all the roads. This is how our politicians promise to make our country better.

My grandmother takes insulin as she is diabetic. Just because of the shutdown we had to go through a lot of trouble. She ran out of insulin injections. Medical stores nearby were all closed. We felt helpless and I could see my mother almost crying when she had to walk all the way to DHA phase 2 where she luckily found a little medical store and bought those injections.

Isn’t there any other way to make this country better than through protests and strikes? Are these strikes benefiting us in anyway?
