@R: Good Job bro! You guys are really good in thinking things over(& over) then come-up with a good-enough logic that make even Sore Losers look like a Winner. I knew You have talent Or we don't like competing with ourself. Now, If we join hands, no Super Power can stand in the way. Problem is, we are born with poor eyesight, can't see beyond our dinner table. Even if we see far, that must be next days Food too. See! You win we win, it's same thing on world stage, no? The world don't see us from our eyes. I have been around the world. The hatred we have is by us & for us. No one in the world care to compare. They just find it easy to sell stuff to each of us, separately. Look deep, no one is treating us too differently. We both are just wrestling in a mud pit. Now don't believe you're out of it, please. Look closely!
@Atif Iqbal: eventhough most of your ideas are acceptable what you mean by europeans taking advantage of internal bickering.Man what you mean by that??For Indian sit was just a game of hockey,we lost this one but could win Asia cup by defeating you.There was no excitement per say other than modest celebrations.No shirt remval,obscene gestures..Perhaps it has alot to do with education and culture of the nation.So dont blame India when your players are a wrong.Dont try to equate this with ganguly or Kohli incidents are no one ever tried to justify something disgraceful.To those who were blaming Indian teams reaction during third place match against Australli you shuld notice that it was a particular plaers frustration and the entire team tried to calm things up so that the Australians are not offended.
Some years ago, an Indian had remarked that for them, losing at sports cannot matter that much given how they have beaten us (Pakistan) in every other field that actually counts. India just sent a rocket to space; meanwhile, Pakistan has rockets trained on its own people. We won. Amazing.
Really, we have once again embarrassed ourselves on the world stage - not too long ago, the way the Pakistani boxer took his silver medal at the Commonwealth games showed another example of how our sportsmen seem to have little class - and understand, India may have lost a game, but they school us in every other department. Our people are uneducated, lacking in class, and the way our sportsmen behave - they, who reflect our people and who present our image to the world - is deplorable. If anything, this incident should mean that behaviour and education should be part of training for any international tournament.
To people that argue that winning against India meant that the final against Germany was not important, grow up. The India and Pakistan rivalry matters for little. They don't even play the same game anymore. Meanwhile, our wait for another champions trophy continues.
(Oh wait, at least we beat India. Sigh)
@Neo: Shirt removal is done in Football every day for celebrations INDIA GROW UP ...!!!!
Gold for Germany Silver for Pakistan Burnol for Indian!
Indian Trolls all over ET.
@Daddy: Absolutely...
For those commenting on Ganguly's shirt removal at Lords, you need to understand that that was a private bed that Ganguly had placed with one of Eng players. I think it was Kevin Petiersen.
Nonetheless, it is not the shirt removal that was obscene. Players remove shirts all the time.
There were two players: One giving middle finger, and the other making an imaginary shaft repeatedly stroke an imaginary hole (all with his hands). The pictures and videos of these are available everywhere on the internet.
Now these were not gestured to the opposite players. These were made to the audience.
How can anyone with a sane mind tolerate this? I only watched it on Youtube and felt bad. If I were the audience I would have complained.
This one ugly incident vindicates Indian decision not to allow the Pakistani cricketers in Indian IPL ... there should be complete Indian ban on all forms of sports with the Pakistanis ...
Whatever the hate between India and Pak.. it shouldn't exist in sports.. unacceptable actions from Pak team, and yeah I am from Pak...sighs
@kala_bacha: @Azi: Pakistan.,,may be happy of defeating India.,,,,but they aren't worrying of losing in finals.,,, the 'ugly-cultured' minds.,,
This is not fair... Indians should b awarded with best rondo cry baby team award ..Pak coming home with a medal & Indians left with tears :)
@Sirajb Stop patting on ur back, what happened in today's Aus vs India match?? Plus ur so called well behaved germany misbehaved after scoring a goal... Time to grow up #RoindiaRo
The Pakistanis should learn from the Indians and the Germans. When India won a huge haul of medals at the commonwealth and the Asian Games and when India beat Pakistan in each of the world cup cricket matches, there was no gloating from the Indian players. They took everything modestly, celebrated in moderation. I understand, Pakistan doesn't win many medals on the international forum and no international players come to Pakistan to play cricket and hockey whereas we get an overdose of IPL in India, so Pakistan must be feeling extremely happy when they win just one match, but that doesn't mean they should resort to hooliganism. They must learn from the bigger brother on how to handle victories; after all we are more experienced
Double joy. Yesterday's win and today's loss to Australia.
Indian ego satisfied! Never seen a victorious celebration resulting in punishment despite apology. Seen such gestures on the hockey, cricket and tennis grounds. FIH should prohibit victory celebration in case India is a loser.
Deceit and lies are so ingraved into Pakistani psyche that none of Pak media mentioned about the middle finger and showed just shirtless pictures. Role of the media is to shoe truth not convenient versions of it. Eventough we know better, we keep repeating this lies and omissions, just because they make good talking points. Unfortunately world does not work that way. When we repeat these lies in front of the world, it's making us look like fools.
Not sure that Pakistani players should continue to be referred to as the "green shirts" given the hurry they were in to take off their shirts after the match with India....
In terms of crowd support in the final, Pakistan got what it deserved following their boorish and inexcusable behavior yesterday.
That said, nothing infuriated me as much while watching the final as the sight of the German player gleefully encouraging the crowd to shout louder and put more pressure on Pakistan team.
Have the two nations learned nothing from history? How long will they allow the Europeans to take advantage of the internal bickering? Why can the two nations not play furiously and proudly on the field, but agree to rally behind the one that wins the match?
How long will the people stay mired in the cesspools of their stupidity?
Cherish your common bonds. They far outweigh the differences.
Well Played Pakistan. Nothing to be ashamed. Definitely need better concentration and more exposure to European teams. This team can certainly improve. Shame on FIH for retracting on sensible stance and bowing down to threats. Threats shouldn't be tolerated at any cost. May be it's time to relieve India for some time from this game until they mature and learn some humility. There is no room for such pathetic attitude in this sport. Horrible crowd, the worst in the entire world. May be 'small hearted' argument has validity. How come it is India who always have crowd problems? Australia, England, SL and SA in Cricket....Pakistan in literally every game, and numerous other nations have similar problem with Indians shameful attitude. Totally uncalled for. If there was any misbehaving, it's very likely started from Indian end. Symond, Flintoff, Inzy, Ranatunga and Warner would definitely agree.
RoIndiaRoThank you Pakistani team for showing Indians the true Pakistani culture. You guys are true ambassadors for your country
@Salah: This talk about playing and subduing on their own soil....it is all nice and fine to write like this but show one nation in the world who wants to play on your own soil...NO ONE and is'nt that sad.you have to go around the world with your sticks and baats to be allowed to play.
@Raj Kafir: no raj overall we have played brilliantly in the tournament after getting beaten in group stage to beat netherland and then india respectively!! we weren't expecting that pakistan will beat netherland! so we are happy what we acheived..
Now get ready for aggressive body search during departure.
Well done Pak boys! You tried your best, even with a broken leg. You defended well! Any other country definitely would have eaten a dozen goal by the Germans in this state. Yes! That was not very professional what you did, we understand. You couldn't handle the enemy's verbal abuse against you nation & religion. But the crowd cheered you too, against Nederland, didn't they? Yes the punishment was too harsh. Yes, no one was stopped from playing before just by booing back to the crowd. But this is India, for God sakes! They are beating war drums there, didn't you know! Our teams were not allowed to join games there before. Of course, it could have been a more proud moment for Germany had they beaten a full forced Pak team. Any way! Congratulations, for even going to the finals!
@Dishum: the host themselves are the most ill mannered nation. they don't know how to behave with guest nations.Not only they have misbehaved with pakistan but with austrailian players today!! indian always cries..there is no sportsman spirit in indian media too!!
This Pakistani team is talented, but mustn't resort to what it did yesterday. Though it was extemporaneous, such unruly behaviour hasn't been seen in any sport, especially while celebrating. I don't hate pakistan, in fact, I do like the cricket team a lot.. But matters like these only create hatred. Anyway, well played, Pakistan, silver medalists!
Well played Pakistan. Defeating India itself is equivalent to winning final. Despite very limited resources reaching final is itself big achievement. Best of luck. Pakistan zindabad
To all the haters out there Here is a second middle finger to indian team.. Courtesy of Australia. Yo yo happy Christmas
Pakistan wins the champions trophy when they beat the Indian team. I felt sorry for the chokers. Well done Pakistan and we proud to see you home :)
@Neo: Learn how to lose and not be cry babies
it was still a wonderful game considering two star men out.although it was handicapped for pakistan but still they managed to keep their self respect..welldone boys!!will come to welcome you at the airport inshAllah
So what if Pakistan lost!? the bottom line is that they beat India! :) Indian civilians need to learn to behave to international teams! worst crowd ever! Well Done Pakistani Shaheen's Keep Flying High! <3 <3
All these hurt Indians, giving advice or suggesting beat up at home. Sorry to disappoint you that soon there's gonna be a news of a hero's welcome.
@Neo:
Play well and learn to not beg/ blackmail others just because your side cant take a defeat.
@Help Less:
Like I said, our joy was mostly watching Indians show their real face to the world after a defeat. Winning over Germany would just have been a bonus.
@Dishum:
I remember last few times in host country, India poisoned one of our player's water. And beat up its own citizens for having their opinions. Seems like the host speaks from experience of "doo doo".
These comments show the bitterness of Indians on losing to Pakistan. But Pakistan played extremely well. In fact , we could have beaten Germany even without the pair that were suspended.
Learn to show and belive in Sportsmanship, my Indian friends. Stop this small man syndrome.
@Help Less:
Who cared much! Watched semi though.
India lost to Pakistan, We won final yesterday.what ganguly did in lords. Pain is of losing from Pakistan on home ground ☺
At least we were able to grab one medal but there are some nations who are so unfortunate to get one :)
@Dishum:
Poor guys had to face the whole stadium full of hooligans hurling abuse. I agree, they should be given capital punishment if it pleases Indians.
Albeit Pakistan Lost to Germans in the finals, yet we have already won the match by subduing our rivals in their own soil. Still another win is the serving of salt on their fresh wounds through the historic celebration. Come back and we are going to attribute roads in your names, you are our heroes
@Siraj Ahmed: It's a well established fact that the indian crowds were inciting the players. Take off your homer glasses "Siraj".
@Raj Kafir: Yeah.. to look for their SILVER medals!
Do we know that Pakistani Hockey players dont even carry the basic health insurance and they get around less than 25,000 Rs a month with no long term contracts . With these conditions i consider the performance of Pakistani players as the exceptional one as they are the runners up of the Champion Trophy. So Congratulations to the Pakistani Hockey Team and shame on the PMLN's Politically Appointed Pakistan Sports Board that is destroying every sports activity in this country.
Game over, Germany 2 Pakistan 0. Now Pakistan Customs will be taking off the shirts of Pakistani players at Lahore Airport.
jOY WAS VERY SHORT LIVED
suspension of two players was haphazard excuse,in fact Germany and Pakistan had nothing in common and eventually Germany surpassed in all fields.
Next time don't mess with the host or you will find yourselves in a "deep state' of doo doo.
Welldone Team Pakistan, No salaries and central contract yet in the final out of 8 beat teams. Just some miss chances cost us,,,,,,,, Better luck next time
Pakistani players should learn from German and Indian players on etiquette. The Uncouth and illiterate Pakistanis should never be allowed in any of our sports team. They have insulted our country. Must be punished.
This is called a self-goal in soccer.
This is called a hit wicket in cricket.
This is called Imran Khan in politics.
Pakistan should've boycotted this match.
The IHF should take into consideration that the Indian crowd was booing, etc. If not why should we bother with this. They can get lost for all we care :*
Final score : Germany 3 :: Pakistan 1
Play well and learn to behave well.
good luck from India
