To be questioned: Security forces hand over 30 men to Jirga
These persons were detained for questioning on suspicion of having links with militants
BANNU:
The security forces on Thursday handed over to a local Jirga around 30 people picked up from different areas of North Waziristan during the Zarb-e-Azab operation.
These persons were detained for questioning on suspicion of having links with the militants, officials said, adding that those cleared after investigations have been released.
Mir Qadar Khan, a tribal elder, who led the jirga to receive the 30 people said: “We appreciate the security forces for releasing the people. We will be providing every possible support to the security forces in maintaining peace and security in our areas.”
Immediately after their arrest the representative elders had asked the forces to release them, however, the forces assured them
that they would be released after necessary investigation.
After the investigation, those who were cleared of any crime were handed over to the Jirga.
