Return plan for IDPs

Letter December 11, 2014
It is hoped that fruits of this successful operation will usher in an era of peaceful, prosperous, promising future

LAHORE: Since the launch of Operation Zarb-e-Azb in mid-June 2014, Pakistan’s armed forces have been fully resolute about eliminating terrorism permanently at the earliest. After considerable achievements in the operation, a number of areas have now been cleared of terrorists, signalling that it was safe now for internally displaced persons (IDPs) to return.

As reported in newspapers, the armed forces and the government are now in consultation about formulating a comprehensive strategy for the rehabilitation of the IDPs, who sacrificed a lot for the sake of the operation against the menace of terrorism. The government and the armed forces are determined for an improved, enriched, fully-developed and value-added reconstruction of operation-affected areas. It is hoped that the fruits of this successful operation will usher in an era of peaceful, prosperous and a promising future for our beloved country.
