Attack in Quetta: FC spokesperson injured in firing

FC spokesperson was coming to his office at FC headquarters when armed men on two motorbikes opened fire at him

QUETTA: The spokesperson for Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan was shot and critically injured by unknown assailants in Quetta on Tuesday morning. According to an FC official, FC spokesperson Khan Wasay was coming to his office at FC headquarters when armed men on two motorbikes opened fire at him. He received two bullets in his upper torso and was critically injured. The attackers managed to escape from the scene after carrying out the attack. He was rushed to Combined Military Hospital Quetta. “Injured Khan Wasay’s life is out of danger,” an FC official said, adding that it was a targeted attack. Police have opened probe into the incident, while the motive behind the targeted attack is yet to be known.
