Lahore traffic police distributed megaphones among wardens performing duty on The Mall on Tuesday. CTO Tayyab Cheema said they planned to provide megaphones to wardens at all the main arteries of the city.
He said 150 mega phones would be provided to wardens deployed on the roads. He said the megaphones had been donated deployed on a traders’ union on Hall Road.
CTO Cheema said the mega phones would help wardens educate the public. He said it was difficult for wardens to individually approach motorists and tell them to stop before the zebra crossing and not to cross lane boundaries. They will now use megaphones to make such announcements, he said. Wardens will also use them to clear traffic jams on roads. He said it will ensure smooth flow of traffic.
