Abdul Hafeez, a neighbour, told The Express Tribune that Fazal-i-Razzaq had been living in the area for 15 years. “Fazal was a labourer and had eight children,” he said. “In the attack, his three children Ibraheem, 15, Hasnain, 8 and Ismaeel, 2, remained unhurt,” he said.
Police reached the house and took the bodies and the injured to hospital.
Ayesha was also taken to Athara Hazari tehsil headquarters (THQ) hospital from where she was referred to the Jhang district headquarters (DHQ) hospital.
The Athara Hazari SHO told The Express Tribune that they had recorded the statement. “She is very frightened now. She told us that some unidentified people knocked at the door and when her father opened it, four men armed with axes and daggers attacked him. After killing him, they attacked the rest of the family. She said she was also hit and then became unconscious. She said that her three brothers were sleeping in a separate room and had remained safe. She said the killers apparently did not know they were there,” the SHO said.
