Target killers, extortionists 'belonging to MQM' arrested: Rangers

Weapons including Awan grenades, bulletproof jacket and a large quantity of ammunition were also recovered

KARACHI: The Rangers claimed on Tuesday to have arrested nine suspects as part of the continuing operation against criminal elements in Karachi.

According to the Rangers spokesperson, the paramilitary force conducted a targeted raid in the Akal Bonga area of the old city, arresting nine hardened criminals.

The arrested culprits included target killers and extortionists affiliated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, claimed the spokesperson.

Weapons, including Awan grenades, bulletproof jacket and a large quantity of ammunition, were also recovered, he added.

Suspects were later shifted to undisclosed location for further questioning.

@Braveheart: Yours is the only comment asking for law enforcement personnel to be from the local area. That is the only solution to alleviate lawlessness and enforcing writ of law. Nothing else will ever work.

Rangers donot represent Karachiites.They should be sent back to borders .We need our own force from the locals .
