Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of incidents of hooliganism and firing near Novelty Bridge in Faisalabad and sought a report from the regional police officer.

He said that those involved in the deadly firing should immediately be arrested and action be taken under the law. He said that he was deeply grieved over the loss of life and ordered the police to arrest the persons responsible without any delay.

The chief minister claimed that the law and order situation in Faisalabad was triggered by the provocative statements by some political leaders.


Meanwhile, the Samanabad police registered a murder case against State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali, Punjab’s former law minister Rana Sanaullah Khan, Imtiaz Malik, Rana Sheharyar, son-in-law of Sanaullah, Nadeem Mughal, Muhammad Zahid and 300 others.

The case was registered under Sections 302/148/149/109 of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act on the complaint of Attaullah, the elder brother of deceased PTI worker Haq Nawaz.
