ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party leader Nawab Ali Wassan has challenged the election tribunal’s December 6 verdict, wherein senior politician Ghous Ali Shah was declared as returned candidate from NA-215 Khairpur-I after the passage of 18 months of election. Wassan moved a petition on Monday though his counsel Farooq H Naek, requesting the top court to set aside the tribunal’s decision. Ghous Ali Shah had contested last year’s general election on a PML-N ticket, but lost it to Wassan. Moving petition in the SC, Wassan contended that the tribunal’s verdict is based on conjectures and contrary to the law applicable thereto as well as judgments of the superior courts in the matter.
