Healthy activity and sports are essential for the people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, said senior minister Inayatullah Khan while speaking at the conclusion of a four-day sports festival called ‘Peace Tent Village Kumrat’ at the Dir stadium on Sunday.
The event was organised by Faqir Welfare Organisation and sponsored by the Tourism Corporation Khyber-Pahkhunkhwa (TCKP). Besides Khan, Jamaat-e-Islami district ameer Sahibzada Fasihullah as well as a number of sportsmen and youngsters attended the closing ceremony. Prizes were given to teams participating in cricket and volleyball matches.
Khan said he was trying his level best to set up sports grounds in the district to provide youngsters with the opportunity of engaging in healthy activities. The minister also thanked Faqir Welfare Organisation for organising the festival in Upper Dir.
Faqir Welfare Organisation Chairman Yahya Faqir said the aim of the event was to help the masses. He thanked the government departments and NGOs for helping organise the festival.
