Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan had recorded a statement at a hearing of the tribunal on Saturday regarding alleged rigging in NA-122 during last year’s general polls.
Imran said during the hearing that the evidence was in the ballot bags. Prior to recording his statement, the PTI chief was summoned by the tribunal on December 6 to present evidence for the allegations regarding rigging.
PTI's Shafqat Mehmood, while speaking to Express News, said "Until the bags are opened, how will we know what the situation is?"
"It is very fortunate that the bags are being opened, and we will now find out what really happened during the elections," Mehmood said.
In response to a question regarding the role of NADRA in the verification process, the PTI MNA said, "We had information that some officials from NADRA had tried to change the records. However, if it functions as a state institution (as opposed to a government institution), we will not have a problem."
National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq from the PML-N won the seat from NA-122 last year.

@jamshed kharian-pak: IR of Iran isn't exactly a role model for Islamic countries so I would not be quoting theirs as a success example. They are a facist regime ruled by dictatorial mullahs who choose who will run in the elections. Their economy is in shambles despite sitting on oil gold mine. So taking on the western world has not been a success. Instead we should learn from the likes of UAE who have been vastly more successful than Iran.

I would never recommend IK to wait 25 years for justice.

So finally it was the tribunal that opened the boxes as per what all sane people were saying to begin with.. call off your protests present your case infront of the tribunals and wait for justice like the rest of Pakistan do not consider yourself extra special

IK/PTI vindicated as per Saad Rafique & Pervaiz Sb, Ayaz Sb etc; who had said that IK had no proof when he was asked to present evidence in court....this is what IK had to say...open the bags..proof will be there. Now, since there is no form 14, 15 & 16...how will it match ? has EC any justification for not keeping record of form 14, 15 & 16 & FAFEN has repeatedly requested EC to put these forms on their website..why till now not put ? koi dil mei kala hai ?
@Bro: The actions of the NADRA and Government made NADRA suspicious. Can you aswer the below questions. Why was the NADRA Chief removed silently? Why he fought his case in court and got re-instated? Why then he resigned from his post? Why did the chief leave Pakistan for ever with his family?
If you correctly answer the above questions. Then you will yourself get your question's answer!
In a parliamentary democracy the speaker is the second most importntant person in the Govt. That he in this case is opposing a recount is a damning idictment of his credibility. Let us end this farce for once and all. For whom is the bell going to toll next?
@Bro: PTi says it with reason and logic. It doesnot just blindly put the blame. PTI and we the people were watching the Chief of NADRA being dismissed mysteriously, and then reinstated by court the next day. Then again the Chief resigns and packs his bags and flies out of Pakistan with his family. Have you got any explanation for that? The Chief said that he was getting death threats on phone if he did not alter the results of re-count. That is audio recording proof. Have you got any explanation for that?? The series of events makes NADRA doubtful, we the public is not blind follower of PTI, we are also listening and making our own conclusions on such mysterious events..
this is good or bad decision, time will tell, but issue is not with the decision, real test is that whether Mr. imran Khan accept the result if it proves against him. this is million dollar question. i just pray that parties accept the result peacefully.
Looks like the evidence IK provided was enough. Makes all the PMLN reps saying no evidence was provided look quite foolish now.
Let's pray that the truth wins at the end. In sha Allah. My all prayers with imran Khan for the sake of country as the currnt polititians have done nothing good for the country so far in last 30 years and if they get another 30 years imagine where Pakistan would be.

The opening of bags, verification, counting etc must be done in the prescence of representatives of parties and TV/press, otherwise it will be a wash out with fixed results as usual.

Lets hope Bags do not DISAPPEAR like they did in NA-128. its been 8 months court has ordered to open bags on 128 but they mysteriously disappeared and still cannot be found anywhere
