Foolproof Arrangements: More security for Samjhota Express

Our Correspondent December 06, 2014

LAHORE: A quadrilateral meeting of officials from the Rangers, police, customs and railways department on improving security of the Indo-Pak Dosti Bus and the Samjhota Express was held on Saturday. Operations DIG Haider Ashraf told The Express Tribune that it had been decided to increase the number of policemen deployed at the bus terminal and the railway station, beef up security along the route of the bus and escort arriving and departing passengers to ensure foolproof security. He said police would also fence the Wagah area and carry out a search there. Ashraf said it had also been decided to hasten the immigration and custom-clearance process for the benefit of passengers travelling between the neighbouring states.
