Handball: Pakistan women’s team beats Yemen

The Pakistan women’s team defeated Yemen 26-12 in their opening match on day two of the International Handball Federation (IHF) Challenge Trophy yesterday at the Agriculture University of Faisalabad yesterday.


In other matches of the event, Bangladesh beat Afghanistan 52-5 at the South Asian event.


The men’s competition saw Bangladesh defeating Nepal 41-18 with the help of MD Sohag Hussain Arif scoring 10 goals along with MD Sohail Rana scoring eight, while Afghanistan beat Maldives 49-22 to win their opening match.


Meanwhile, India were still waiting for the issuance of their visas till the filing of this report. In case the defending champions fail to participate in the tournament, the Pakistan Handball Federation faces a fine and a possible expulsion from the next round, which will be a continental event.
