Abduction: Hindu doctor kidnapped from Quetta

Unidentified assailants kidnapped a Hindu doctor from Quetta on Tuesday. Dr Manoj Kumar, a medical officer at the District Headquarters Hospital Dadhar, also teaches students in the provincial capital.


“Police have found the abandoned car of Dr Kumar at the parking lot. It seems an apparent case of kidnapping for ransom,” Senior Superintendent Police (SSP-Operations) Quetta, Aetizaz Goraya told The Express Tribune.


Dr Kumar is a well known teacher and teaches college and university students. He also heads Manoj Academy. “He teaches students at his academy in Quetta,” said Shaukat, SHO Industrial police station.


Shaukat said that the father of the doctor said his son was kidnapped by a group of armed men near al Gilani Road. Police have started an investigation into the case.
