KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that their U19 team will fly out to Kenya on Thursday to play a five match ODI series at the Nairobi Gymkhana, starting from December 6.

The national junior selection committee, led by Basit Ali, announced the 14-member squad and named Saud Shakil as the skipper.

The team, which will depart tomorrow, includes: Sajawal Riaz, Zeeshan Malik, Yousaf Babar, Imran Rafiq, Aqib Javed, Muhammad Shahid Khan, Kamran Afzal, Shahbaz Javed (wicketkeeper), Awais Iqbal, Muhammad Shahabul Khan, Saif Ali Ghauri, Ahmad Bashir and Muhammad Mubashir.

Manager Abdur Raquib, head coach Javed Hayat, assistant coach Iqbal Imran, trainer Muhammad Javed and physiotherapist Adeel Bajwa have been named in the five-member management team who will leave with the players for the tour.

“We had to make a few changes to the original squad because some of the players didn’t have the required documents with them,” a junior selector told The Express Tribune.

“They had been told to get their documents a few weeks before but they couldn’t arrange for them and thus stand-by players were drafted in.”

Meanwhile, the senior national selection committee submitted the Pakistan A squad for Kenya, but the list has so far not been approved by the PCB.
