Artillery barrage: TTP commander killed in Jamrud

JAMRUD: A Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander was killed on Saturday in shelling by security forces in Jamrud, Khyber Agency, official sources said. According to them, the Swat Scouts launched an artillery barrage on militant hideouts in the Lashora and Shangir areas of Jamrud. The body of TTP Kuki Khel commander Wajid Abu Bakr was discovered during a search operation in the area following the shelling, the sources told Daily Express. A close aide of Abu Bakr, Ashiqullah was also killed in the shelling, they said. Two other injured TTP fighters managed to escape, the officials added, quoting local sources After being identified, Abu Bakr’s body was handed over to the Khyber Agency political administration. Officials of the political administration confirmed the development when asked.
