Red Carpet Roundup: Fashion Pakistan Week 2014

The looks ranged from classic silhouettes to cleverly tailored patterns

November 28, 2014

The guests were out in full force for the Fashion Pakistan Week, held at a local hotel in, Karachi. The ramp shows happened in full-swing but we’re still stuck on the conspicuous fashion that dominated this year’s fashion event.

The looks ranged from classic silhouettes to cleverly tailored patterns. Skirts seemed to be all-the-rage at the studded event, and so did statement pieces that served as brilliant accessories. From fashion hits to ill-fated misses, we took a subtle snapshot to round up the fashion-roar.

Sanam Saeed

Hair and make-up:

Sanam let her exquisitely dark and poker straight tresses flow at the event. A cerise crème sheen blush gave the star a luminous look. The deep scarlet lip and restrained eye make-up accentuated the sophisticated look she was going for.

Outfit:

Adorned in a sleeveless Sana Safinaz number, Sanam’s look failed to impress us. The charcoal-coloured geometric pattern did nothing to showcase the beautiful burgundy coloured outfit. The wide leg pants with an extreme under-the-knee flare looked especially out of date. The loose-fitted waist-coat took the ensemble to a drab level.

Accessories:

The actor accessorised with Outhouse Indian jewellery’s bronze vintage looking neck piece by Sana Hafeez. The sombre hue of the necklace complimented the star’s lovely olive skin tone. Black pointy heels rounded up her not-so-upbeat look.

Ali Safina

Hair:

Ali appeared precisely groomed at the fashion event. With just the right amount of stubble grazing his jaw-line, and hair tucked off the forehead and matted in place, his look yelled runway-ready and his style was spot-on.

Outfit:

Donning a well-fitted royalty-worthy outfit from the Adnan Pardesy collection, Ali edged a charmingly sophisticated vibe. The mishmash of white and black was a newly-minted blueprint that worked agreeably well and made his lean frame a focal point.

Accessories:

Standing tall in shiny formal black lace-ups by Giorgio Armani, Ali needed no other accessory to polish up his classy look.

Maha Burney

Hair and make-up:

Wearing her hair in a neat middle part, basking on her shoulders, Maha kept it quite uncomplicated in regards to her mane. Her bright crimson lip and strongly defined eyebrows framed her face just right.

Outfit:

Maha rocked a Shehla Chatoor ensemble that comprised of a beige-gold skirt with a floor-touching hem. Signified by neat pleats, far-off peacock patterns and earth tones, the skirt had our instant nod. Her top was a plain high-necked ivory coloured blouse with slight cap sleeves that brought all the more spotlight to the happening skirt.

Accessories:

Keeping the bling factor to a minimum, she chose a chunky statement piece necklace by Shehla Chatoor. The glitzy gold clutch by Alexander McQueen added a subtle glamour to the otherwise effortlessly chic ensemble.
